Description

Working from a Chromebook with US international keyboard, the usual keys for typing single apostrophe ' and double apostrophe " do not work in the Gutenberg editor.

Meanwhile I found out:
AltGr + ' works
AltGr + " works
' then spacer does not work
" then spacer does not work

Hi @nmschaller! Thanks for raising this issue.

I can't seem to reproduce this, however I'm not using a Chromebook.

the usual keys for typing single apostrophe ' and double apostrophe " do not work in the Gutenberg editor.

For clarification, when you press the usual keys, do any of these apply?

  • Nothing appears, as if you didn't press a key.
  • The wrong symbol appears in the editor and on the frontend.
  • The correct symbol appears in the editor, but the wrong symbol appears on the frontend.
  • The wrong symbol appears in the editor, but the correct symbol appears on the frontend.
