Description

I am trying to update my email address on the WordPress.org site from this page:

https://wordpress.org/support/users/username/edit/account/?screen=email

(Replace username with the actual username)

This sends a confirmation email to my new email address, but clicking on it fails with the following error:

"You attempted to access the "WordPress.org Forums" dashboard, but you do not currently have privileges on this site. If you believe you should be able to access the "WordPress.org Forums" dashboard, please contact your network administrator."

Interestingly, the confirmation email sent from this link works fine:

https://wordpress.org/support/users/username/edit/

(Replace username with the actual username)

Just noting that this doesn't appear to be a core bug, but probably something to do with wordpress.org implementation - I'll open up a ticket there to track this.

@arunsathiya Where did you find this link at?

That page is not working fully yet because it is unfinished. It's part of the two factor stuff. Not complete yet.

https://wordpress.org/support/users/username/edit/ would be the correct current link to change your email address.

@Otto42 I got it from a Mastodon post. Have seen it on Twitter too.

@arunsathiya Ah, I see.

That page has not been officially launched yet. Which is why we don't link to it anywhere on the site or have any announcement about it. However, thank you for reporting the issue.
