Shortcodes no longer working

This is a problem isn't it if word-press updates can suddenly disallow short-codes because of their updates. I am not sure I can work with an organisation that does this. My entire site, weeks of work thrown out of the window. To say i am furious is an understatement but i expect that is why it is done isn't it? I would say it is a major major drawback. All the code is fine, had it checked just wordpress team stamping its feet for money
