#61953 new defect (bug)

aspect-ratio setting for image in overwritten pattern not working

Reported by: drivingralle's profile Drivingralle Owned by:

Description

After building a syned pattern with an image (aspect-ration 16/9) and a headline and making both of them over writable. Add two of this to a page. Overwriting one of the instances.

Now the overwritten image doesn't use the aspect-ratio.
If you add any with and height values to the HTML of the overwritten image the aspect-ratio jumps into effect.

The size attributes and src-sets seem not be be added to the output.

Tested in Playground with 6.6.1 and nightly. With TT4.

First seen this behavior in a child theme of "Hello".

If the image overwriting the default is a SVG the behavior is as expected.

  • Version 6.6.1 deleted

Hello @Drivingralle,

Welcome to WordPress Core's Trac.

I'm triaging bugs reported on 6.6.1 or 6.6.2 releases and then updating the ticket information accordingly to help contributors.

Resetting the Version as I'm not seeing any changes from the 6.6.1 release that might affect the reported issue.

Also, it might be better to report the bug in the Gutenberg repository, as investigation and changes will happen there.

Hey @Drivingralle
do you have opened a GitHub issue in the Gutenberg repo? Then we could close this here as "reported-upstream".

@zodiac1978 After my last Gutenberg ticket going very well, I'll update the description of this ticket and add it to Gutenberg after my vacation.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
