Locate the “At a Glance” widget.

Observe the WordPress version, active theme information, and update button.

Expected Result:
The WordPress version, active theme information, and update button should be displayed properly without overlapping.

@tusharaddweb thanks for your report.
I think this has been fixed in #65733 for WordPress 7.1.
Which WordPress version are you testing with? From your screenshot I see the alignment of the text is the one that used to be in place for WordPress 7.0 and earlier versions.

@afercia I also noticed that the Akismet notice appears very close to the update button, with insufficient spacing between the elements. This makes the “At a Glance” widget look crowded. Could you please confirm whether this is expected behavior?

@tusharaddweb the change in WordPress 7.1 should have improved a little the spacing between the button and anything that comes after it. See attached screenshot, which compares WordPress 7.0 with current trunk development version.

Re: Akismet: it's a plugin that isn't provided by Core. If you have any request about it I suggest contacting the support of the company that develop Akismet.

Kindly confirm your first report is related to a previous version of WordPress.

@afercia Thank you for the clarification. I tested this on WordPress 7.1.2, and the spacing issue is still noticeable. The update button appears too close to the surrounding text. Could you please confirm whether any further spacing improvements are expected?

In the screenshot below, this is what I see in WordPress 7.1.2.
The spacing seems OK to me and I can't reproduce the issue.

If you are seeing something different, you are probably experiencing some cached stylesheets or conflicts with other themes or plugins. Please consider that any bug report must be clearly reproduced. If you have the chance, you should test with:

  • all plugins disabled
  • a WordPress bundled theme activated (I understand that it can't be done on a production site)

I tested this on WordPress 7.1.2

Noting that the version set on this ticket is 7.0.

This is not WordPress issue, I've reported this issue to Akismet plugin forums
