Description
The link should also appear under Dashboard in the left navigational menu:
- It's not immediately obvious where it is, either based on past WP experience or other admin navigation clues.
- The old Super Admin menu was up in the same area
- The Updates notifications are under Dashboard
- "Dashboard" is a global notion and appears in both modes
- The Dashboard menu has a link to the meta-site "My Sites" page
- All other admin links appear in the left menu
- The user's profile link (also in the upper right where the network admin link is) is duplicated in the left menu under Users.
Screenshot shows what the patch does for each mode.

That responds to a couple of my points, but not:
- The Updates notifications are under Dashboard [In other words, there's the tacit suggestion that this is a nexus of global activity]
- "Dashboard" is a global notion and appears in both modes
- The Dashboard menu has a link to the meta-site "My Sites" page
- All other admin links appear in the left menu
- The user's profile link (also in the upper right where the network admin link is) is duplicated in the left menu under Users.
In response, I would argue that it is more consistent:
- all other navigational links appear in the left navigational menu
- Dashboard is global and already has site-management stuff

Updates should not appear here in multisite. If it hasn't been removed yet, there's a patch somewhere to do it.
- "Dashboard" is a global notion and appears in both modes
Two separate dashboards, though. So it's not a global notion.
- The Dashboard menu has a link to the meta-site "My Sites" page
Which is a horrible spot for it :-)
- All other admin links appear in the left menu
- The user's profile link (also in the upper right where the network admin link is) is duplicated in the left menu under Users.
Both fair points, but I would argue that this is unique.

It doesn't have site management stuff. It's just a really bad spot for My Sites as there isn't really a better spot for it (yet).
I think once you know where it is, it won't be hard to find. On the other hand, this would require another click or hover sometimes, and is not in a consistent location.
