Description

Hi,

There are a couple of bugs on WordPress Credits page.

1.- There is a problem with usernames with dot, for example my username "j.conti"

I'm on translators list, my name and avatar are correct but the link to my profile is wrong. Now, the link is http://profiles.wordpress.org/users/jconti but my profile is http://profiles.wordpress.org/users/j.conti the bug is deleting the dot.

2.- There is a problem with my name, my name is "José Conti" but is showing "José Conti"

Thank you

utf8 issue?

The Norwegian translator "rettsida.net" is shown with the link to http://profiles.wordpress.org/users/rettsidanet (wrong, missing the dot) and user "morten.hauan" has link to http://profiles.wordpress.org/users/mortenhauan while http://profiles.wordpress.org/users/morten.hauan is correct.

My test blog uses UTF-8 and run WP 3.2 RC1.

There are some other issues as well. The queries for both translators and validators need some work.

This will be my project this week.

As per this topic on WP Polyglots ( http://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/2011/05/23/translator-credits ) there are indeed a few other issues. Main one is that currently it does not show the people who are current validators in GlotPress. On the Dutch credits page is lists people who may have done something in the past, and I'm talking about at least more than 2 years ago, but who somehow are still registered as being active validators.

OT: I know it's not related to this ticket, but if we could have the profile page linked to show not just your activity on the international forums but include the local forums as well that would be dandy ;)

Remkus, yeah, that's what I was referring to with "The queries for both translators and validators need some work."

If you'd like to open a new ticket here for international forum activity, we can take a look at that.

Only a question,

Why my gravatar on trac is a monster?

My user name link to my profile but my gravatar is wrong.

I point this issue because there are a big problem on WordPress.org network with usernames with a dot. May be all come from the same issue.

We're down to RC4 now and the credits page is still not showing the proper names. If the next release is the 3.2, then there's little room for testing ...

j.conti: Fixed here. We have Trac hacked up to support gravatars and our script was stripping dots. What are the other issues? (Please open a new ticket.)

Currently we just remove accents. There are other tickets to re-introduce them properly.

The problem with the translators is not fixed. Non-ASCII characters are broken.

Se attachment wplang.png taken from a "nb_NO" localized installation. The first name should read Eivind Ødegård and the sixth name should read Ingebjørg Synnøve Thoresen.

See http://meta.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/117

If accepted there I guess this one becomes a duplicate.
