Xdebug throws error message on updates

Description

When I update (core, themes and/or plugins), I receive an error message from Xdebug:

Fatal error: Maximum function nesting level of '100' reached, aborting! in /srv/www/ccc/htdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2987,
Fatal error: Maximum function nesting level of '100' reached, aborting! in Unknown on line 0

(see attached screenshot)

Running plain vanilla WP 4.6 on a local VVV install with Xdebug_on, no plugins activated, using theme Twenty Sixteen.

Beside the display of the error message the installation seems to run smoothly and everything is updated as expected.

Hey Bego,

Thanks for your report. We've already fixed this in #37731, which will be part of the 4.6.1 update scheduled to be released later the day.
