"Home" page redirecting issue

I have found an issue where in an attempt to set a static home page when the site is loaded it redirects to another page on the site. While the page it redirects to is always the same it seems to have chosen it at random.

1. Does it still happen on a clean install with no plugins installed and a default theme activated?
2. What are the slugs of the home page and the other page?

@davidcolangelo are you able to provide some answers to the questions above so this can be debugged further? I am unable to reproduce the issue you are describing.

Please feel free to close this out as Im not even sure which project this references anymore (it was a long time ago) and I must have not seen the alerts to the initial responses.

I did try changing the post types but a clean install with no plugins was not possible due to the site configuration. The issue was that if I set a static home page it worked just fine but would not navigate to any sub pages. However if I unset the static homepage all of the sub pages worked. Sorry I cant provide more, im sure at this point the issue has been solved as I have not seen this issue come up on any of my 5.X.X projects.
