WordPress does not support any version of Internet Explorer anymore, so I'll close this ticket.

Hi @imani3011 and thanks for the report!
It seems this is no longer necessary due to declining Internet Explorer use. I did notice the black box when using the IE8 emulator, but not with IE11 (which is still supported). It likely started to fail when WordPress discontinued older IE support in 4.8.
Unless you see the problem in a more modern browser or another situation, I recommend closing this ticket.
