Description
On the WordPress updates page, there is a really convenient link to see what's new in every plugin update. Why isn't there the same link for theme updates? Instead, you have to go into APPREARANCE>>THEME and open the theme details, navigate to the theme's repo and open the readme.txt to what's new. Seems like there would be a way to make this easier.

Wow, that's frustrating. Thanks for the info and for working on this for 8+ years.
Seems like parity between plugin and theme updates shouldn't be so elusive.
Replying to joyously:
Core handles what the API provides. The plugin directory was revamped, but the theme directory was not. So it's a chicken and egg thing. I've pushed on both sides for a long time now...

Someone invited me to comment on this thread. There is a need to be able to consult the changelog for themes before performing an update. In my personal opinion, as a professional WordPress user, this is an important feature that is oddly missing. I hope you can step in as soon as possible to introduce this simple yet important innovation. Thank you, everyone!
