A3 Lazy Load has a GitHub repository for development and reporting issues with the plugin. Issue #30 addresses the srcset, if you would like to add any comments there.

Regarding the search form, #16539 and #23850 already replaced the searchsubmit ID with a search-submit class for any theme that supports HTML5 and uses the default search form. The get_search_form() function retained the ID for compatibility with older themes. Because many themes still use the ID selector and would break if the ID is either changed or removed, I think the function needs to keep that.
