Admin menu item badge has wrong background color with different admin color schemes

Description
When a user changes the Admin Color Scheme to anything than "Default," the little number of badges next to the menu item name inside the Admin Menu has the wrong background color.
But the badge has the correct background color for about a second when the cursor leaves the current top-level menu item. So it must be some weird CSS priority issue.

The "beta" label is removed for next release, but plugins could still have similar elements.
