Description

Hello!
I've just updated my WordPress to Version 6.3 and found out that Links adding in the text became a difficult process.

There was "one-window" UX for that process:

  • select the text
  • press ADD LINK button
  • enter (or paste) the link in the input block
  • choose options for the link under the input block (open in the new window, and "Set to nofollow" or "Set to sponsored" if you use plugins for that)

Now there's a process that takes more clicks and become very annoying:

  • select the text
  • press ADD LINK button
  • enter (or paste) the link in the input block
  • you cant choose any options, you can only enter the text
  • than choose that link in the text again
  • press EDIT
  • press ADVANCED
  • and only then you choose options for the link

The UX became worst and annoying.

Is there any option to change that using WordPress instruments?

Or we should accept it and we have no chance? Maybe you will fix that in the future updates?

Best regards, Mikhail.

Hi there

Thank you for your report. Other people have reported this issue as well, to avoid spreading the information and discussion over too many tickets... I'm going to close this one as a duplicate. (Which doesn't make it any less valid)
