6.7.2 fresh install

Hi,

Using the download link ​https://en-au.wordpress.org/latest-en_AU.zip

I have done a fresh install three times and wordpress-6.7.2.zip has failed each time.

I have installed from 6.7.1 and upgraded to 6.7.2 and so far it seems to be fine, so the issue seems to be with the installer.

First issue I noticed, the pwd strength checker does not work.

PHP 8.1 or 8.3
cPanel on linux

Please note, this has not been extensively tested, but you can do a quick test and if the pwd strength checker does not work, it's likely the whole install will not.

Hi @wharminda, Thanks for the ticket.

I tried the fresh install of 6.7.2, and it installed fine for me. Maybe this guide can help you if you're still having issues: ​https://make.wordpress.org/core/handbook/tutorials/installing-wordpress-locally/from-zip/

Also, the password strength checker works fine for me. Can you maybe list out the steps you took so that I can follow the same and confirm if that's an actual issue?

Did you download from the link I put in the ticket?

1. Downloaded from the link
2. Uploaded to cpanel
3. Used cpanel to extract the .zip
4. Moved the files back in to the root of public_html
5. Ran the WP installer

Once installed, installed some plugins, once they installed OK, twice they had errors on install, but each time trying to open Elementor it wouldn't open. Tried other plugins, they also failed to open properly.

As I tried a lot of things and didn't write down the steps, I can't 100% guarantee that I redownloaded from the link, though I'm pretty sure I did, so that I would have had 2 separate downloads in case one was corrupt.

As mentioned, 6.7.1 installed fine and upgrading to 6.7.2 worked fine, just the fresh install of 6.7.2 failed.
