Description

Ever since moving to 6.9.4, when I push the Publish Button, the entry is saved BUT it returns the code view of the blog and NOT the visual view of the blog? Now, I myst hit another button (the VISUAL VIEW) first before continuing my editing. How can I fex this?

Hi and welcome to WordPress Core Trac!

This might fit better in the forums.

More details could help:

  1. Do you use Classic Editor or a similar plugin? (That refreshes the page when you publish or update a post.)
  2. An archive of your site says you had WordPress 6.8.3 before 6.9.4. Did you update from a different version?
  3. What browser and operating system do you use? I had the Code view when I published a post within Firefox's Responsive Design Mode, but then I did not have the buttons to switch between Visual and Code views until after I left the responsive mode and refreshed the page.
  4. Does the editor show
    • the Visual view every time you open a new post or edit an existing post?
    • the Code view every time you publish or update a post?
    • the Code view when you refresh the page without updating the post?
