Description (last modified by )
Would be nice if the Quick Edit function for hierarchical terms included the ability to change the parent. In fact, you could pretty much eliminate the Edit function altogether by doing this.

I think this is one of those that requires either a page refresh or else an AJAX style refresh to keep the ux consistent.

- Keywords close added; ux-feedback removed
I can imagine it working out, but what if the new parent term is on another page in the overview? Should the page be reloaded, or should the term simply be removed from the list?

Instead of putting much time into that, we should focus on a solution like #28050 that could handle such cases.

Great idea, if that works out. But I'm not sure conflating two wish list items is the route to progress?

This is a cool idea, and I don't think it's mutually exclusive with #28050. However, it's been open here for five years with no patches or other appreciable work toward fixing it. If anyone wants to take it under wing, feel free to reopen.
This sounds like an interesting feature, but how would we handle this regarding visual feedback? If both parent terms are on the same page in the terms overview for the taxonomy, I can imagine it working out, but what if the new parent term is on another page in the overview? Should the page be reloaded, or should the term simply be removed from the list?
