Tick Box Open link in new tab...

I've found that when I insert a link into a new page and I edit the link, although I can tick in the edit box, open link in new tab, it does not work. The link opens in the same page and when I go back and tick the box again, it still does not work.

The check-box isn't sending the command to open the link in a new tab.

When this was opened it was probably a duplicate of #46071 but I'm still running into this on 5.3.2, running TwentyTwenty theme, no plugins active.

If I enable the Classic Editor plugin, it also happens in the Classic Editor.

Just adding some feedback. I know that in the block editor, when you edit the link, if you toggle 'Open in new tab' you then have to click the apply button to make the change. Not sure if it's the same in the classic editor, there's a chance it was implemented the same way.
