Description
Twenty Twenty-One Theme V1.1
When I insert a Media and Text Block, only the text shows on the home page of my blog. There is no sign of the image that I have inserted into the block. If I follow the link to look at the entire post, the block works as expected.
I tried switching the theme to Seedlet, which I understand that Twenty Twenty-One is based on and it works fine, as expected.
I have asked about this in the Community several days ago and have not gotten any response.
I have tried disabling all plug-ins with no improvement.
FWIW, I am updating from a very old theme and will attach examples.

I was a bit slow with my response to the support topic :)

Hi - I switched the setting to full content and now the picture shows.
The setting is labeled "On Archive Pages, posts show:"
Would this be considered an "Archive Page"?
Thanks for the help!

- Focuses ui-copy added
- Keywords 2nd-opinion added
- Summary changed from Twenty Twenty-One: Media and Text Block issues to Twenty Twenty-One: excerpt settings
- Type changed from defect (bug) to enhancement
- Version 5.6 deleted
Well, the Home page (or Page of posts) is probably not exactly an Archive, but in the context of this setting it seemed close enough.
The description was changed in PR463 to reflect applying the setting to Archive pages (it had been the Posts page only). This way, it matches the description used in at least Twenty Twenty's theme options.
Here is one possibility to clarify the language in these themes:
"On Posts page and archive pages, posts show:"

"On Posts page and archive pages, posts show:" would certainly be better.
This is not a simple question and I will need to reflect on it some more.
From my perspective, as a user not familiar with the theme, the key point would be: How do I know this or find it out? Believe me, I searched for an answer for quite a while. Maybe a note in the documentation would be appropriate stating that "Full text" and a little further explanation.
Once one knows the answer, it is easy-peasy. I wonder if this issue has led to the one star reviews.
Thanks again for your help with this.

Hi
@cprgolds, I have updated the documentation at https://wordpress.org/support/article/twenty-twenty-one/#excerpt-settings from
"In the Customizer you will find a panel called Excerpt Settings. Here you can choose if archive pages should show the full content or only the summary. The search result page always shows the summary."
to
"In the Customizer you will find a panel called Excerpt Settings. Here you can choose if the blog and archive pages should show the full content or only the summary. The search result page always shows the summary.
When the summary is selected, only text will be displayed."
Is this sufficient?

@poena -- Hi Carolina. That sounds like a significant improvement.
What do you think about also noting that the default setting is summary?

OK, I have updated the text.
Can I close this ticket as fixed?
The text for the option in the Customizer is consistent with Twenty Twenty.
Hi @cprgolds!
This is because Twenty Twenty-One displays the post excerpt by default, not the full content. When excerpts are used, images are removed.
You can change this setting in the Customizer in the panel called Excerpt Settings. In the excerpt settings option, select "Full text".
Please try this setting when you have a chance, and let us know if it still does not work.
