- Component changed from Media to Permalinks
Several tickets could refer to similar issues if this is about unattached media with the /%postname%/
permalink setting:
#13459, #15665, #18962, #24612, #31293, #34972, #48658
I have had experience with the issue described in #34972, and I worked around it by deleting and replacing the image (#31293). @cbirdsong suggested a somewhat friendlier workaround:
- Go to the Edit Media page (click the title or "Edit" link in list view or "Edit more details" in grid view).
- Expand the Screen Options panel at the top.
- Check the box for Slug to show the Slug metabox.
- Edit the slug for the attachment and save changes.
- Edit the page's slug in the post editor (or Quick Edit).

Hi @ayeshamalik. Thanks for reporting the issue, however, your ticket lacks any reproduction steps. If you would like assistance, please provide clear steps to reproduce the issue, including URLs of the pages in question (which slug specifically are you seeing this with?), screenshots illustrating the problem, and any other relevant specifics.
Your comments directed at the WordPress Core Team are disrespectful and accusatory. This is an open source project built and maintained by volunteers. Characterizing their work as "nonsense" is insulting to the immense effort they put in. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but diminishing the work of these important contributors is not acceptable. This ticket system exists as a way for collaboration and rapid response to happen when changes in the project take place. We can’t collaborate effectively when the conversation starts with no information and accusations.
If you'd like to rephrase your ticket with additional technical details we would be happy to look into it further.
